Truth be told if you had asked me 10 years ago what the easiest part of the process of creating a book series was I probably would have burst into tears. I would have screamed and cried and told you that there was no easy part. Everything was difficult, I had no idea what I was doing; what made me think I could write even a chapter let alone a series of books. I was writing word by word, line by line, page by page. Then I was ripping it all apart. Starting all over again, convinced that it had to be perfect the first time or it would never be perfect at all.
I can’t pinpoint the exact moment that everything changed.
But it did.
Ask me now what the easiest aspect of creating a book series is and the most honest answer I can give is… The writing.
Writing the story is the easiest part of this whole process. It is the magical and fun part. It’s the part that I believe I was born to do. Writing the characters and the places into life, creating their world. It is the easiest thing in the world to do and I absolutely adore it. The biggest difference between now and then is that I live to write, I don’t live to be right straight from the get-go.
This is creative.
It doesn’t have to be perfect.
It doesn’t have to be completely together.
It doesn’t have to finished.
It doesn’t have to be anything at all until you decide that it is.
Once you decide it’s something it will become everything.
You will see that what you love and what you’re passionate about is absolutely the easiest thing in the world to do.
